The HcG Diet
The HcG (human chorionic gonadotropin) diet is a low calorie diet that does not involve any exercise. The diet is designed to activate a mechanism in your body in which your appetite is suppressed and you burn your own fat for energy. It also resets your hypothalamus to assist in the prevention of regaining weight. You will be given HcG drops, dietary protocol explaining how to do the diet along with a meal plan, recipe book and weight loss tips to help activate weight and fat loss. The meal plan will include 500 calories a day with your body releasing approximately 2,500 calories so you don’t feel hungry. It is the equivalent of doing 6 hours of cross training exercise without doing any. You will eat 6 meals a day and drink 2L of water to help flush toxins. The general loss is 1-2kg of weight per week with fat loss ranging between 1-1.5kg a week.
Shake It Ketogenic
The Shake It diet is referred to as a ketogenic diet due to reduction of sugar consumption. When your body does not have sugar, it will start burning your fat stores instead as is it the secondary source of energy. The diet consists a protein shake, nuts, lean meats, fish, protein and vegetables. It is similar to a healthy eating diet plan though considered more strict to activate fat burning. The average weight loss for the Shake It Ketogenic Diet is 0.5kg per week. This diet does have the benefit of allowing you to do more exercise if you wish.
Paleo
The paleo diet is based on the ancestral principle that we should only eat the food that was available to our hunter-gatherers millions of years ago. With a strong focus on lean protein, fruits and vegetables, the paleo diet has many restrictions and bans all processed foods. While it is easy to lose weight on this diet, it is considered more of a long term lifestyle diet.
FODMAP
As an acronym for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols, the FODMAP diet is a low carbohydrate diet. Each food group will have low and high FODMAP foods so it is best to speak to our Naturopath or Nutritionist to determine a suitable diet plan. FODMAP diets have been widely acclaimed signed to help determine which high carbohydrate foods your body does not digest properly. At Capalaba Natural Health we tend to suggest doing Food Intolerance testing initially as in our experience this works extremely well and may prove less restricted than the FODMAPS diet.
5:2 Weight Loss Diet
The 5:2 diet is so called because five days of the week you will eat normally but the other two days will be restricted to 600 calories. It is a fasting diet that does not restrict the foods you can eat but more when you can eat. Each individual will have varying results. This is also considered a lifestyle diet.
